"Idiosyncrasy"

I sat by the sea,
captivated by the serenity before me.
Without realizing myself drifting away into thoughts,
I closed my eyes, drawn into a deep slumber.

Flashbacks;
the past, the present, the future.
I see nothing but myself
running frantically, panting,
blinded by my own emotions.

Intensify; the fears may seem.
Disoriented; clouded by perceptions.
Overwhelming; gasping for breath.
Yet, I chose to be oblivious.
Indeed, ignorance is bliss.

I was jolted awake by thuds on my face.
Droplets, and more droplets crashed in.
Liberating from my emotions,
"We're no more than stranger", I say.
