ALOOOOOOOHA! DO YOOUU MISSSSS MEEEEE?! SAY YES! Gahh, I'm probably the last to blog about this event, but I'm gonna do it now!
It has been tedious for the past few days, especially waking up in the early morning and heading to work on a Saturday! Nevertheless, here I am once again, gonna pen down my thoughts on the YOG Opening Ceremony which I've attended a week ago.
This afternoon, my aunt asked why am I able to attend all these events. All I can say is, I thank Samsung & 24sevens for giving me the honour to do so! Through this, I made good friends too!
SAY HELLO TO THE BLOGGERS (FIDELIS, ALTON, RUITING, JERAMY & IVAN) WHO ATTENDED THE YOG OPENING CEREMONY WITH ME.
They're probably people whom you have/had come across. Yes, they got invited to the event too! It wouldn't be fun without them around because they are the ones who made my day! We joked, we crapped, we went crazy together!
And so, we started our journey queuing up at Marina Square! We were supposed to reach the floating platform by 7.45pm, yet we were still queuing at 7.30pm. It was dearest Fidelis' idea to camwhore while waiting. Oh.. To add on, the sky was dark and breezy during that period of time, and we were worried that it might rain. (Thank God it did not!)
CAMWHORE SESSION STARTS NOW!
After half an hour..
We were in! (And also the last few to get in.) Ruiting, who came after us, reached the floating platform earlier than us. SUAY OR WHAT?!
Drums rolls...
HOHOHO! WELCOME TO THE FLOATING PLATFORM! It was my first time stepping foot into this place. Call me a suaku (turtle), I don't care. From the place where I sat, I was totally mesmerized by what I'm seeing before me- The skyline of Singapore.
NICE RIGHT NICE RIGHT?!
And and and.. here you go, the start of the celebration at 7.45pm! (It started right after we sat down! Super duper HENG!)
The moment we sat down, I checked out the goodie bag which was given to us at the entrance, and guess what?! This 2 stupid thing made a fool out of me! =(
I was supposed to blow air into that thing to make it bloated, and I couldn't find my little straw that was used to insert into the hole. (Okay, sounds damn wrong!). I began searching for that little straw in my bag (which took me a good 10 mins), and TADAHH! It's all ready for use.
P/S: Alton was so excited that he burst both of this!
Most performances were presented by students from all over Singapore. All I can say is, it was my honour to sit in and witness this fabulous event taking place right there and then. Enough of the talks, here's the pictures for the opening ceremony.
One of my personal favourite, the Olympic Rings!
HOLD HOLD HOLD! There were 204 countries taking part in the YOG! Everyone cheered for their own countries, but we cheered for EVERY countries! Aren't we patriotic?! *Grins*
Here's the main highlight of the event, and probably one of the most unforgettable moment. The lighting of the Olympic Torch! Credits to Boston.com for the wonderful photos!
"Now it comes down to me, lighting the Olympic Torch. I thank Singapore for giving me this opportunity to do so!". Awww.. How I wish that was me. *Dream on Noel*
*POOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOF!* There goes the fire..
This makes me go "whoooooooooaxz" when I saw the fire!
ISN'T IT BEAUTIFUL?! ISN'T IT BOOMXZ?! Duh! Obviously it is! And that officially marks the start of the Youth Olympic Games in Singapore.
And of course.. How could we leave these out!?
This officially marks the end of this entry! Credit to Fidelis, Ruiting & Ivan for the photos!
